Study on Weights and Dimensions

The Study on Weights and Dimensions: Impacts of the Proposed Amendments to the Weights and Dimensions Directive on Combined Transport and Rail Freight Transport analyses in detail the various measures proposed as part of the revision of the Weights and Dimension Directive.

The overarching aim of these measures is to decarbonise transport and enable efficient transport options. However, the analysis has shown that these measures, as proposed, are not necessarily suitable for achieving these objectives.

The study was conducted by d-fine in close cooperation with CER (Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies), UIC (International Union of Railways), UIRR (International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport), ERFA (European Rail Freight Association), and UIP (International Union of Wagon Keepers).
