Essay debate ‘Railway Innovation in the 21st Century’

CER and SNCF presented the essay ‘Railway Innovation in the 21st Century’ at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Hosted by MEP François Kalfon, the essay debate with Members of the European Parliament featured the participation of the essay’s authors Jean-Pierre Farandou, Chairman and CEO of SNCF Group, and Alain Quinet, Executive Director for Strategy & Corporate Affairs at SNCF Réseau. The authors outlined the need for major innovations to be rolled out to enable the development of rail traffic on the existing network. From the European Commission, Anna Panagopoulou, Head of Cabinet of Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas, participated to the event.

Following the essay presentation, MEPs from across the political spectrum shared their views in the debate.
