200 Years of the Modern Railway

To mark 200 years of rail, a gathering was organised in partnership between the UK Mission to the EU, Rail Delivery Group, Railway 200 and CER, to share perspectives from both sides of the Channel on the impact of rail transport and the rail sector’s future, the shared opportunities and challenges across the European rail network and venues for collaboration between the UK and its European partners.

Kindly hosted by His Excellency Lindsay Croisdale-Appleby, Ambassador and Head of the UK Mission to the European Union, the event featured contributions from the UK Department for Transport, the European Parliament, the European Union Agency for Railways, the Polish State Railways and CER, Network Rail and UK Rail Research & Innovation Network.
