About the event
The 2011 European Commission Transport White Paper set several positive goals, and yet most of them remain unachieved. Despite all efforts, the modal shift promised in those pages is yet to be seen.
With the announcement of an EU Strategy on Sustainable and Smart Mobility, the European Commission has once more raised the hope of the sector for a long-term and firm transport policy strategy that could see rail at its centre.
CER published its input to the forthcoming EU Strategy on 10 July. This online event provided the opportunity to gather the first reactions of EU Transport Commissioner Adina Vălean to the rail sector input, as well as her anticipations for the Strategy.
