In its recent White Paper on Transport, the Commission expressed the wish to establish “the framework for a European multimodal transport information, management and payment system by 2020”.
 
Back in November 2010, the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Managers (CER) gave an opportunity to Members of the Commission, Parliament and Council to discuss the issue of Ticketing with representatives of the rail sector during a lunch event in the European Parliament organized under the kind patronage of Mathieu GROSCH (MEP, EPP).
A year later, Mathieu GROSCH and CER organized a follow-up session to discuss where the industry stands one year later.
